This Privacy Policy explains how ConfirmRide ("we", "us", "our"), a ride-booking service for Bokaro Steel City developed and operated with CDIT Infotech Pvt. Ltd., collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the ConfirmRide website at confirmride.co.in and the ConfirmRide Android app (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

From Customers:

• Name, mobile number and (optionally) email address and home/office address, provided at registration or on your Profile page.
• Your password, if you choose to set one.
• Pickup and destination locations for each ride, and your device's current location when you choose "use my current location" while booking.
• Ride history: bookings, vehicle type, fare estimate, ride status and timings.

From Drivers (in addition to the above):

• Identity and vehicle details submitted for verification, such as driving licence details, Aadhaar number, vehicle number and vehicle type.
• Photos you upload (for example, profile and vehicle photos) and your UPI/payment QR code image.
• Your device's live location while you are marked Online in the Driver dashboard, so that nearby ride requests can be matched to you and Customers can see your approach.
• Earnings, ride counts and commission settlement records.

Automatically: basic technical data such as IP address, browser/device type and session cookies needed to keep you logged in and to keep the Platform secure.

2. How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account and log you in (including OTP verification and password reset).
• To match ride requests with nearby available Drivers, show fare estimates and route/distance information, and manage the ride from request to completion.
• To verify and approve Driver accounts and to keep the Platform safe from fraud and misuse.
• To send service messages such as OTPs, password resets, new-ride alerts to Drivers and account approval notices.
• To calculate Driver earnings and commission, and to help resolve disputes or complaints.
• To comply with legal obligations and lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Location Data

Location is central to a ride-booking service. Customer location is read only when you are booking a ride and allow location access. Driver location is read only while the Driver has the dashboard open and is marked Online. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your browser or phone settings; you can still type a pickup address manually, but Drivers cannot receive nearby rides without sharing location.

4. How Information Is Shared

• Between Customer and Driver: once a ride is accepted, the Driver sees the Customer's name, mobile number and pickup/drop locations, and the Customer sees the Driver's name, mobile number, vehicle details, photo, payment QR and approximate location.
• Service providers: we use Google Maps Platform (Geocoding and Places) to convert coordinates to addresses and search places, and email/SMS providers to deliver OTPs and alerts. These providers process data only to perform those services.
• Legal reasons: where required by law, court order or a valid request from police or government authorities, or to protect the safety of users.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secured servers in India. All traffic to the Platform is encrypted using HTTPS, and access to the database and admin panel is restricted to authorised staff. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Ride and commission records may be retained for up to 3 years after a ride for accounting, dispute-resolution and legal purposes. When an account is deleted, personal details (name, email, photos, documents, QR code and saved location) are removed or anonymised, except where we are legally required to keep certain records.

7. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can view and update your profile details from your dashboard. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time from our Account Deletion page, or by calling us. We will verify the request and complete it within 30 days.

8. Children

The Platform is not intended for children under 18. Driver accounts are only for adults holding a valid driving licence. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
